Secular Student Alliance Privacy Policy

This website is owned and operated by the Secular Student Alliance. The following policy addresses how we use the information that we collect about users via our website. This policy may be changed or updated from time to time.

If you have any questions about our policy, please contact us.

The Secular Student Alliance is interested in protecting the privacy of our donors and visitors to our website. We will only share your contact information with third-parties when

1) you've given us specific permission to do so
2) the third-party is contacting you on our behalf (e.g., a company retained by us to prepare a mailing to our list)

We do occasionally trade the names and addresses of people who have given us permission to do so with like-minded organizations. We never sell any contact information. If you have given us permission to share your address in the past and would like to revoke that permission, please contact us. We would be happy to honor your request and stop sharing your information.

Credit Card Information Security

We use industry standard "https" encryption to make sure that your credit card information is secure while it is transmitted from your web browser to our server. The companies we work with to process your credit card transactions also use this technology to protect your financial information.

As is the case with almost every website, we use cookies to track user activity on our website. Unless you have created a username and are using that username, we do not link any of this information to any specific identity. Our primary purpose in tracking usage statistics is to gauge the popularity of pages on our website with our visitors as a whole. We do use third-party services to help us analyze traffic patterns on our website, but never release any associated personal information to those third-parties.

We also use a cookie-based system to allow members and users to log into our site to change their own contact information, post comments, and perform other actions. Our system does collect usage information that is not anonymous, but we do not share it with any third-parties. Only authorized personnel have access to member and user information.

Both donations to and memberships in the Secular Student Alliance are not refundable. Make sure you want to make your gift or join before you do so. Registrations for conferences and other events may be refundable before certain cut-off dates. If registration is refundable for a particular event, the payment page for that event will clearly state the refund policy.
